The Helicore violin C string is a tungsten/silver wounded braided steel-core string, designed for the scale length of the violin. This is the violin C string that is used by the manufacturer on many electric violins.
The braided steel core Helicore violin C string has a tungsten/silver winding. This is not a short-scale viola C, but one designed specifically for 5-string violins. Many electric violin manufacturers use Helicore strings on their instruments, and the Helicore violin C string is often used on five-string electrics even when the rest of the strings are by a different manufacturer. The Helicore Violin C is used by Yamaha on the YEV-105 and SV-255 and , by Bridge violins on the Lyra, among others.
