Description
ETJ electric violins are designed and handmade by Eric Jacquin in Monteux, France. The unique, lightweight wooden design is attractive, extremely lightweight, and easy to play. The central spine of the violin is made of an African hardwood called wenge. The “wings” of the rest of the body are made from amaranth, or purpleheart, and the edges are decorated with a metallic gold leaf embellishment.
Truly a handmade instrument, every ETJ violin is carved by Eric Jacquin, and varnished in a multi-day process, which not only adds to the complexity of its tone but gives it a gorgeous organic sheen. The result is a very light design that produces a natural sound, rich in harmonics, highlighting the warm vibrations of its highly resonant wood. Combined with the clean, balanced tone of the Starfish Designs pickup, this instrument is perfect for expressing the nuances of traditional violin playing.
