Description
From Fortevio luthier Valentin Hristov in the UK comes the aptly named ‘Feather’ electric violin. The Feather is a lightweight, attractive instrument that’s comfortable to play and has a great amplified tone. Its curvy cutaways leave a central top and bottom with upper bout and lower ribs that have acoustic violin size and specs for ultimate comfort and feel. The transparent finish over its flamed maple body gives it a classic look.
This ‘Standard’ model differs from the higher priced custom built Feathers in that its panels are flat and slightly curved (as opposed to fully three-dimensionally contoured), and it doesn’t have purfling. It features the same great Fortevio pickup bridge tone, so you can sound just as great on a budget!
If you’re looking for a unique and beautiful electric violin that’s lightweight and has a great amplified tone, the swoopy, curved lines of the Fortevio Feather electric violin might be just what you’re dreaming of!
The lines of the Feather’s body have a sleek, organic appeal, and the top and back plates of the body are made of flamed maple, with an attractive shaded transparent finish that gives the instrument a classic look.
It has a strong, full, and open tone, provided by Fortevio’s proprietary pickup design. It sounds great on “acoustic” styles of music, but also works quite well with effects.
Frets are intended to help ensure that violinists playing in loud environments (e.g. rock band with guitar and drums) can play in tune even when they cant hear themselves particularly well. Frets also give the fingerboard a visual component that some players find creatively helpful and assist in transposing finger patterns into different keys.
