NS Design’s CR-4 viola is one of the best-sounding and most comfortable electric violas on the market. This instrument combines Ned Steinberger’s genius for ergonomics with his many years of experience with the electronics of musical instruments, producing a beautiful, functional instrument with excellent amplified tone. The adjustable shoulder pad and chinrest make this wild looking viola extremely comfortable to play. The upper bout can be removed to ease shifting to the high positions, and is much wider than the rod most other makers use. Made in the Czech Republic, the quality is identical to the earlier, more expensive US model. The tone is very acoustic sounding, and can be modified over a large range with very effective treble and bass controls. In addition, a three position switch lets you choose a strong pizzicato sound, a warm bowed sound, or a combination of both. Includes headphone jack. All NS Design instruments come with a 5-year limited warranty from the date of purchase.
