7-strings extends the violin’s range down in 5ths, from EADG, to viola C, an F below that, and finally B-flat a whole step below the cello’s open C string! 7-strings should be more difficult to play than this, but maker John Jordan’s careful attention to neck width, string spacing, and curvature create an ergonomic and easy to adjust to playing experience. We recommend a CodaBow Joule extended-range violin bow to get the most out of Jordan 7-string, but whatever bow you use, you’ll find bowing this instrument easier than you’d expect.
A Starfish Designs multi-transducer bridge is the stock pickup, which provides a rich sound that’s great for amplified “acoustic” styles and also quite good for louder stages and high-gain effects. for an additional charge, you may opt to upgrade the pickup to a Barbera Twin Hybrid. Barbera pickups offer high output and tremendous punch that’s fantastic for all electric styles.
